St Patrick's alumnus Honoured
Dominic Tyrrell, B.Ed 2003 graduate of St. Patrick’s College, has just been honoured for his work as a cultural-exchange teacher in the United States. Dominic is a native of Naas, County Kildare, and has been teaching in the U.S. with the Visiting International Faculty (VIF) Program, a three-year cultural-exchange programme for teachers. As a teacher with VIF, Dominic came to the U.S. to teach students about Ireland. At the end of his three-year visa, he’ll return to Ireland to share what he’s learned about America with his Irish students.
As a teacher in the Cumberland County Schools in North Carolina, USA, Dominic has taught his students about life in Ireland. His students learn words in Irish, as well as their English synonyms. He also started a Gaelic Football Club at the school.
