'Stress Relief for Teachers; The Coping
Triangle' by Dr Claire Hayes was launched in St. Patrick's College on Friday January 20th. The
launch was performed by Prof. Patricia Casey, Professor of Psychiatry, UCD,
with an audience of over 100 guests including teachers, clinical
psychologists and parents. The book is focused on the stresses experienced
by teachers at both primary and postprimary levels, particularly in relation
to anger, depression, anxiety and illness. It presents an easy to implement
framework that can make a positive difference to teachers' lives and will
equip them to tackle key challenges.
In the book Dr. Hayes draws on her experience as a teacher and clinical
psychologist as well as on research for her PhD in St. Patrick's College
The book is published by Routledge (ISBN 0-415-36934-7) in both hardback and
paperback.
