European Lifelong Learning Intensive Programme
A two week Intensive Programme within the European Lifelong Learning Intensive Programme framework was hosted by the University College Syddanmark in Denmark beginning on January 23th. Four students travelled to Kolding from each other participating institution including St Patrick's College Dublin; Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; University College Syddanmark, Denmark; Artevelde Hoogeschool, Ghent, Belgium; Katholieke Hogeschool Zuid-West-Vlaanderen, Belgium; Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, Zwolle, The Netherlands; and St Mary's University College Belfast who initiated the course in Belfast in 2010. The theme of the course was special needs education and inclusion in education and society.
Discussions lectures and workshops and visits to local schools took place and there was also time at the week-end to visit Aarhus. The Irish students from St Patrick's College were Siobhan Finnerty, Aisling Kelly, Eileen McCrea, and Barry Whelan. Dr Hugh Gash (Retired, Education Department, St Patrick's College) traveled and participated in the teaching team for the course.
