Dr Travers appointed to Teaching Council
The President of St Patrick's College, Dr Pauric Travers, has been appointed to the Teaching Council by the Minister for Education and Science, Mr Batt O'Keeffe, TD. The Council is the statutory body for teaching, established under the Teaching Council Act 2001, to regulate the teaching profession, to establish and promote the maintenance and improvement of standards in teacher education, teacher skills and competence and the professional conduct of teachers and to promote teaching as a profession. The first meeting of the new Council took place on 31st March.
