The Drama Circle

The Drama Circle is a new initiative of ADEI (Association of Drama in Education in Ireland). It seeks to provide a practical forum, which will facilitate and support innovative and sound practice among those working the area of Drama-in-Education in Ireland. The steering committee for the initiative comprises past-pupils of the In-service drama programme in St. Patrick’s College, M.Ed students from Trinity College and Freelance drama practitioners.
The first meeting of the circle took place in St Patrick’s College on Wednesday 16th April and thirty-five people attended. They represent a range of contexts within which drama is currently taught in Ireland. A great deal of enthusiasm was expressed for the venture and a wide variety of suggestions given with regard to the content of future meetings. The group will continue to meet in St. Patrick’s College on a monthly basis.
Steering Committee: Orla Maher, Diane O’Connor, Deirdre O’Dwyer, William Wall.
