Conference-the Ulster Earls in Baroque Europe

The event was attended by approximately 200 delegates from Ireland, Italy, Spain, France and the US who heard papers on subjects ranging from the flight of the earls in British-Spanish diplomacy to Irish language culture in the Low Countries in the Baroque Age and Irish scholasticism in early modern Europe.  The conference concluded with a special memorial mass for the earls and their entourage in their burial place, San Pietro in Montorio.  The proceedings of this conference are due to be published in 2009.
