St Patrick's Students Visit Irish Aid Centre
A group of third year BEd students from St Patrick’s College paid a visit to the new Irish Aid Information Centre on O’ Connell St, Dublin 1 on April 30th. Irish Aid Education Officer, Barbara Wilson, led the group in an interesting discussion of the challenges faced by developing countries in delivering the Right to Education to all children. The group, who are completing an elective course in development and intercultural education (The World in the Classroom) also discussed Irish Aid’s work and some of the complexities to be considered in relation to volunteering in developing countries. As the final activity of their elective course, the students are organising a number of international sports and children’s games for the Students’ Union Sports Day to be held in the College on May 12th.
