| New Series of Lunchtime Concerts
A new series of lunchtime concerts will commence in St Patrick's College on Wednesday next, January 25, 2006. There will be seven concerts in total, five before Easter and two after Easter. There will be a wide range of musical treats including a cello recital (Aoife
Nic Athlaoich accompanied by Rhodri Clarke on January 25) a saxophone
recital (Kenneth Edge of 'Riverdance' fame accompanied by Anthony Byrne on
February 1) and a piano recital (Aileen Cahill on February 8)
Leading international opera singer Virginia Kerr will give the world premiere of 'Six Yeats Songs' by Colman Pearce, who will
accompany Virginia(February 15).These songs were composed last year by
Colman as part of his PHD in composition in St. Patrick's College.
The concerts will also feature the great musical talents of our students in two
concerts and the equally great talents of the college staff on the final
concert on May 3rd.
All concerts will take place in the Music Room (B118) in the College on Wednesdays at
1.15pm, further details below:
